A whole new world

Who had never continued or created stories from original ones which we grow up with? We changed at least once them to embody our heroes or just because we didn’t like the end. If you didn’t notice yet in library, you can find novels which introduced you a new version from the Disney’s tales as we know about : the serie of Twisted tale. And to begin with, I chose Aladdin and his Whole new world.

The title is a good reference to the cartoon and its headline grabs our curiosity: What if Alddin had never found the lamp? What a suspens! Well, it did work since I bought the book.

Short summary of the original Disney story realesed in 1992.

It is the story of a young thief with pure heart in the city of Agrabah. He was captured and agreed on a deal for finding a lamp in exanche for gold and mainly for his freedom. The one who cut the deal was the sultan’s vizir who is very ambitious. After being stabbed on his back by Jafar the vizir, Aladdin was stuck underground with a magic lamp. From this, a genie appeared and he can make true three of his wishes. So, the thief came back to his natal ground as a prince. He went to the sultan to seduce the young princess that he saw one day at the market. After many twists and turns, Jafar took back the lamp and could make his wishes before to be stopped by Aladdin. Showing his true self, Aladdin was still loved by the princess and the sultan agreed to their union.

My point of view. I liked the novel specially the way of the story was twisted. I didn’t expect that this realm will turn so dark and sometimes to much to my taste. From the writter view, I found some parts intersting but mostly some of them was too twisted. It’s not my favourite one out of the twited tales but it worth to read it once.
