Am I coming back with a film based on a true story? Nooo, that’s not my type. Is this set during World War II? I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. Will this be the last of this kind that I present to you? If that’s what you think, you’ll be very disappointed. Okay, let’s stop the charade and talk seriously.

Summary: Desmond Doss is a bit special. If the war gives rise to a patriotic impulse in him to the point of enlisting for the army, there is however one thing on which he will never give in: touching a firearm, even to protect his life. Wishing to serve in the medical profession, he nevertheless cannot escape basic training and this includes shooting. However, he will risk prison and rejection to conform to his values. Will he manage to prove his worth and go to the front without a weapon in hand?
This film is simply sublime. For those who have seen it, you know I am right, for others, you will agree with me when you have seen it. It’s not just the story of a man who goes to war with rage in his stomach. It is a journey full of pitfalls to respect and maintain what we believe in, despite the lot of problems that it brings.
Between fear and hope, a little love and friendship, but above all immense faith, this simple rascal will take you in his wake, inviting you to think: to what extent would I be able to defend my convictions without abandoning them?
Take this skinny cookie of conviction. You will see, it is more than enough.
