I decided to change the setting a bit for this new book, and even the era altogether. A glimpse of the future, what do you think? Science fiction Thursday is today!

Summary: A law was created to help regulate the birth rate with a little extra. The month of birth will indicate the sector of the child’s future profession. If the best opportunities are at the beginning of the year, the less glorious jobs are for those born at the end. This is how we follow the story of twins: the eldest was born on December 31st shortly before midnight to be joined by her sister on January 1st. Forced to follow the imposed curriculum, happiness is difficult to achieve. But a revolt is brewing and several questions arise: will they take part in this insurrection and, above all, is victory within reach?
This book is one of the relics of my adolescence that I reread with pleasure. I like the plot and the characters’ point of view. Between the one who is too shy, the other who is withdrawn, one who has rage in his stomach, another who would like to act, but whose comfort anesthetizes him from making a single decision…
The ways of seeing are therefore numerous and interesting to understand. One might wonder what type of person we would be if such a situation arose. Because even if we have little, the fear of losing what is left sometimes prevents us from acting. This kind of SF story bordering on dystopia is more than interesting. But beyond that, the emotions are very present: I shed my little tear. (a torrent indeed.)
All that to say, it’s awesome. If it is aimed at a teenage audience, that should not stop you from reading it.
Cookie dreams of the future, hot ahead!
